Origins and how the firm took shape

The practice began in 1982, when attorney Michael Cacace opened his own office in Stamford, Connecticut. Its early work centered on real estate, for both commercial and residential clients. Over the years the roster and the range of work grew well beyond that starting point.

Jennifer Neal Bardavid is an associate in family and matrimonial law, handling divorce and alimony matters, and she holds a GAL/AMC certification. She earned a B.A. from Capital University and a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law. Judith Ellenthal is an associate with a background in history and urban administration, a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law, and prior practice at two earlier firms. Michelle A. Malone is also named as an attorney, though her published profile carries less detail than the others.

Read together, the named lawyers point to a practice that leans on family law, real estate, and litigation. Those three threads show up again and again in the individual profiles, which lines up with the firm's own history.

What the record shows

The firm states that several of its attorneys hold AV Preeminent peer-review ratings and have appeared on the Connecticut Super Lawyers list. Those are outside markers, drawn from peer and third-party review rather than self-description. In my opinion, that kind of recognition tells a reader more than a slogan does, because it comes from people other than the firm.

What the site does not publish is worth flagging too. There are no case results, no settlement figures, and no client counts on the pages our research reached. For a directory that values evidence over advertising, this reads as an honest gap rather than a warning sign. It simply means a prospective client should ask about outcomes directly.

The firm has a long run in one city, dating to 1982, and a stable name since 1993. That continuity is easy to verify and points to staying power. The practice areas are broad, which suits a client who may need more than one kind of help across the years.

A few things are worth confirming before hiring. Ask which attorney would actually handle the matter, since the named lineup online covers only six of the roughly eight lawyers. Ask about experience in the exact area at hand, whether that is a divorce, a land use fight, or an injury claim. In my view, a firm with this kind of range rewards a client who walks in with clear questions and asks them early.
