Disclaimer
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This Disclaimer governs your access to and use of the website located at verifiedlawfirms.com and any associated subdomains, pages, application programming interfaces, data feeds, electronic communications, and related services (collectively, the "Site"), which are owned and operated by VerifiedLawFirms LLC ("VerifiedLawFirms," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing, browsing, querying, or otherwise using the Site, or by relying upon any information, listing, rating, badge, attestation, summary, dataset, or other material made available through the Site (collectively, the "Content"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Disclaimer in its entirety. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Site. This Disclaimer is incorporated into, and forms a part of, our Terms of Service, and is to be read together with our Privacy Policy.
The Site is an independent, informational online directory of law firms and related legal resources. It is not, and must not be construed as, a law firm, a law practice, a legal services provider, a lawyer referral service, a prepaid legal services plan, or a provider of any form of legal, financial, or professional advice. Nothing on the Site is intended to be, or should be taken as, a substitute for the advice of a licensed attorney admitted to practice in your jurisdiction. The information presented is offered solely for general informational and directory purposes.
1. No Legal Advice
The Content is provided for general informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice, a legal opinion, or any other form of professional advice on any matter. VerifiedLawFirms LLC is not a law firm and is not engaged in the practice of law. The individuals who operate, edit, moderate, and maintain the Site are not acting as your attorneys and are not, by reason of operating the Site, holding themselves out as authorized to provide legal advice to you.
1.1 Informational Directory Only
The Site aggregates, organizes, indexes, and presents information about law firms, attorneys, courts, jurisdictions, and general legal topics so that members of the public may locate and research legal service providers. The provision of this information is a publishing and directory function. It is not the rendering of legal services, the application of law to your specific facts, or the formation of any professional judgment about your particular situation.
1.2 No Unauthorized Practice of Law
VerifiedLawFirms LLC does not engage in, and expressly disclaims, the unauthorized practice of law ("UPL"). The publication of general legal information, directory listings, public-records summaries, and educational material is constitutionally protected speech and is distinct from the practice of law, which involves the application of legal principles and judgment to the specific circumstances of an identified client. Consistent with the unauthorized-practice-of-law rules and statutes of the several states and the District of Columbia, nothing on the Site should be understood as:
- the giving of advice or counsel to any person as to that person's legal rights, obligations, remedies, or defenses with respect to any specific matter;
- the selection, drafting, completion, or review of any legal document, instrument, pleading, contract, or filing on behalf of any particular person;
- the representation of any person before any court, agency, tribunal, or other body; or
- any other act constituting the practice of law as defined by the laws and rules of professional conduct of any United States jurisdiction.
1.2.1 Your Responsibility to Seek Counsel
Because the Content cannot and does not account for the facts and circumstances of your particular situation, you should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of any Content without first seeking the advice of a licensed attorney admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. Your use of the Site does not, and is not intended to, create any duty on the part of VerifiedLawFirms LLC to provide you with legal advice or to advise you of any deadline, limitation period, right, or obligation.
2. No Attorney-Client Relationship
No attorney-client relationship is created, formed, or implied between you and VerifiedLawFirms LLC, or between you and any of its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, editors, reviewers, or agents, by reason of your access to or use of the Site, your reliance on any Content, your submission of any inquiry, message, or form through the Site, or any communication you may have with us. We are not your lawyers.
2.1 No Confidentiality and No Privilege
Because no attorney-client relationship exists, no information you transmit to VerifiedLawFirms LLC through the Site is protected by the attorney-client privilege or the attorney work-product doctrine, and no such information will be treated as privileged or confidential by reason of any supposed attorney-client relationship. You should not send us, through any contact form, message field, email address, or other channel associated with the Site, any information that you regard as confidential, time-sensitive, secret, or privileged. Any unsolicited information you transmit is sent at your own risk and may not be treated as confidential.
2.2 Contacting a Listed Firm
When you contact a law firm or attorney listed in the directory (whether by telephone, email, contact form, or any other means) you are communicating with an independent third party, not with VerifiedLawFirms LLC. An attorney-client relationship with a listed firm is formed, if at all, only by a separate, express written engagement agreement between you and that firm, executed in accordance with that firm's own procedures and the applicable rules of professional conduct. The mere act of contacting a firm through the Site, or of a firm responding to such contact, does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship and does not obligate the firm to accept your matter.
3. Not a Lawyer Referral Service; No Endorsement
The Site is a directory, not a lawyer referral service. We do not match, refer, recommend, broker, or steer users to any particular law firm or attorney, and we do not exercise professional judgment in selecting a firm or attorney appropriate to any user's needs. The Site does not operate as, and is not registered or qualified as, a lawyer referral service under the rules or statutes of any jurisdiction in which such services are regulated.
3.1 No Recommendation or Endorsement
The inclusion of any law firm, attorney, organization, court, product, or service in the directory, and the order, prominence, formatting, or categorization in which any listing appears, does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, warranty, sponsorship, or guarantee by VerifiedLawFirms LLC of that firm, attorney, organization, product, or service, or of its quality, competence, ethics, fitness, character, or suitability for any purpose. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the acts, omissions, advice, representations, fees, conduct, or work product of any firm or attorney listed on the Site.
3.2 Listing Order and Placement
Listings may be ordered, ranked, grouped, or displayed by reference to plan tier, membership status, validated user ratings, recency, geography, practice area, or other neutral operational criteria. The position of a listing is an editorial and operational display choice and is not a measure of the legal skill, success rate, or relative merit of any firm or attorney. A higher placement does not signify that a firm is "better" than a lower-placed firm, and you should not infer any such qualitative judgment from placement.
3.3 No Duty to Select on Your Behalf
The selection of a law firm or attorney is an important decision that should not be based solely upon advertisements, listings, badges, ratings, or any other Content on the Site. You are solely responsible for evaluating, investigating, and selecting any firm or attorney, including by independently verifying that firm's or attorney's credentials, licensure, disciplinary history, experience, and suitability for your specific matter.
4. What "Verified" Does and Does Not Mean
VerifiedLawFirms LLC applies the designation "Verified," together with related badges, marks, labels, and attestations (collectively, "Verification Indicators"), to certain listings. It is essential that you understand precisely what a Verification Indicator does and does not signify.
4.1 What Verification Means
A Verification Indicator means only that VerifiedLawFirms LLC, in its role as an independent directory operator, reviewed specific, stored, dated items of evidence relating to one or more discrete, narrowly defined facts about a listed firm or attorney, and recorded that, as of a stated date, the reviewed evidence appeared on its face to support the specific fact being attested. The facts subject to verification may include, by way of example and without limitation:
- that an attorney associated with the firm held an active license or was reported to be in good standing with a particular state bar as of the date the evidence was reviewed;
- that the firm submitted documentation of its business registration or organizational existence;
- that the firm provided evidence of professional liability insurance, a physical place of business, or other discrete administrative facts; or
- for certain enhanced listings, that public docket records obtained from third-party sources indicated documented litigation activity in a given area.
4.2 What Verification Does NOT Mean
A Verification Indicator is a limited, fact-specific, documentary attestation. It is not, and must never be read as:
- a guarantee, warranty, or assurance of the competence, skill, diligence, judgment, ethics, honesty, or character of any firm or attorney;
- a prediction, promise, or guarantee of any result, outcome, settlement, verdict, or level of service in any matter;
- a certification of the quality of legal work, the reasonableness of fees, or the appropriateness of any firm or attorney for your particular matter;
- a current or continuous confirmation of any fact beyond the specific, dated evidence actually reviewed;
- an independent audit, investigation, or guarantee of the truthfulness or completeness of the documents submitted to us; or
- a substitute for your own due diligence or for the advice of a licensed attorney.
4.3 Verification Is Dated, Point-in-Time, and Revocable
Every Verification Indicator reflects the position only as of the last-checked date displayed in connection with that indicator, and speaks only as of that date. Facts concerning a firm or attorney (including, critically, bar licensure and standing) may change at any time after the date of review, whether through suspension, disbarment, resignation, administrative inactivation, dissolution of the firm, lapse of insurance, change of address, or otherwise, and any such change may occur without our knowledge.
4.3.1 No Continuous Monitoring
Except where we expressly state that a specific recurring re-check is performed, we do not continuously monitor the ongoing status, licensure, conduct, or circumstances of any listed firm or attorney. A Verification Indicator therefore should be understood as a snapshot taken on a particular date and not as a real-time or guaranteed-current statement. You must independently confirm the current licensure and good standing of any attorney directly with the applicable state bar or licensing authority before engaging that attorney.
4.3.2 Revocation and Suspension
Verification Indicators are revocable. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend, modify, qualify, or revoke any Verification Indicator at any time, including upon notice or discovery of disbarment, suspension, loss of standing, loss of documented docket activity, material change in circumstances, expiration of the evidence's validity period, or any reason or no reason. The absence, removal, or suspension of a Verification Indicator is not a statement of wrongdoing by any firm or attorney.
4.4 Verification Is Independent of Paid Tier
A Verification Indicator reflects the documentary review described above and is not purchased and cannot be purchased. While certain features, placements, or listing tiers are available on a paid basis, payment of any fee neither causes a listing to be verified nor influences the substance of any verification determination. Payment does not, and will never, auto-verify a listing, alter the facts attested, or guarantee any particular verification result. The existence of a paid subscription and the existence of a Verification Indicator are separate and independent.
5. Accuracy and Completeness of Information
We endeavor to present information that is useful and reasonably reliable. Nevertheless, VerifiedLawFirms LLC makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee that any Content is accurate, complete, current, reliable, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Content may contain technical inaccuracies, typographical errors, omissions, or information that has become outdated, and may be changed or removed at any time without notice.
5.1 Sources of Information
Content is derived from a variety of sources, including information submitted by listed firms and attorneys, information drawn from public records and third-party data providers, and information generated, summarized, or organized through automated and editorial processes. We do not independently verify the accuracy or completeness of all such information, and we are not responsible for errors or omissions originating with any source.
5.2 Court, Docket, and Public-Records Data
Portions of the Content, including the court directory, jurisdictional information, and any litigation, docket, or case-related data, are compiled from public records and third-party sources, including data obtained from CourtListener and similar repositories. Such public-records data is provided strictly as general information and:
- may be incomplete, inaccurate, mis-indexed, delayed, or out of date;
- may not reflect sealed, expunged, amended, vacated, appealed, or subsequently corrected records;
- is presented without any independent audit by us of the underlying court files; and
- is subject to the terms, limitations, and disclaimers of the originating source.
Public-records data is not a substitute for an official record obtained from the relevant clerk of court or official custodian. If you require authoritative case information, you must consult the official records of the applicable court.
5.3 Statute-of-Limitations and Legal-Topic Summaries
Any summaries, charts, tables, or descriptions on the Site concerning statutes of limitation, filing deadlines, repose periods, claim-notice requirements, legal procedures, or substantive areas of law are provided as general information only and are necessarily simplified, generalized, and subject to change. Limitations periods and legal rules vary significantly by jurisdiction and by the specific facts of each matter, are subject to numerous exceptions, tolling rules, accrual rules, and discovery rules, and may be affected by recent legislative or judicial changes.
5.3.1 Critical Deadline Warning
Missing a statute of limitations or other legal deadline can permanently and irrevocably bar your claim or defense. You must not rely on any deadline, limitations period, or procedural information contained on the Site. The only reliable way to determine the deadline applicable to your situation is to consult promptly with a licensed attorney in the relevant jurisdiction. VerifiedLawFirms LLC disclaims any and all responsibility for any deadline missed or claim lost in reliance on the Content.
6. Third-Party Content, Links, and Reviews
The Site features and aggregates content originating with parties other than VerifiedLawFirms LLC, including firm-supplied descriptions, user-generated material, ratings, reviews, and links to external resources. We do not control, adopt, endorse, or guarantee such third-party content.
6.1 Firm-Supplied and Third-Party Content
Listing descriptions, attorney biographies, practice-area claims, awards, and similar material are frequently supplied by the listed firms themselves or by third parties. VerifiedLawFirms LLC is not responsible for, and does not warrant the accuracy of, any such firm-supplied or third-party content, and the publication of such content does not constitute our adoption or verification of it except to the limited, dated extent expressly described in Section 4.
6.2 Testimonials, Ratings, and Reviews
Any testimonials, star ratings, reviews, or comments displayed on the Site reflect the subjective personal opinions and individual experiences of the persons who submitted them and do not reflect the opinions of VerifiedLawFirms LLC. You are cautioned that:
- individual results vary, and past experiences are not indicative of, and do not guarantee, any future result in your matter;
- a testimonial or review concerning a particular matter or outcome is specific to the facts of that matter and should not be understood as a promise or prediction about yours;
- reviews may be incomplete, mistaken, biased, or unrepresentative, and we do not guarantee that every review reflects an actual client engagement; and
- we do not adopt, endorse, or warrant the truth of any statement contained in any testimonial or review.
6.3 External Links
The Site may contain hyperlinks, references, or pointers to websites, resources, or content operated or controlled by third parties. Such links are provided solely for your convenience and do not signify our endorsement of, or responsibility for, the linked resource. VerifiedLawFirms LLC does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, legality, security, availability, privacy practices, or any other aspect of any third-party website or resource. Your access to and use of any third-party website is entirely at your own risk and is subject to the terms and policies of that third party.
7. Professional and Jurisdictional Differences; Need to Consult a Licensed Attorney
The law differs materially from one jurisdiction to another and changes over time. Statutes, regulations, rules of court, rules of professional conduct, case law, and the interpretation and application of all of the foregoing vary among the federal system, the fifty states, the District of Columbia, tribal jurisdictions, and United States territories, and may differ even among courts within a single jurisdiction.
7.1 General Information Is Not Jurisdiction-Specific
Content of a general legal nature on the Site may not reflect the law of your jurisdiction, may not reflect the most recent legal developments, and may not apply to your specific facts. General information that is accurate in one jurisdiction may be inaccurate, inapplicable, or even counterproductive in another.
7.2 You Must Consult a Licensed Attorney in Your State
Because of these variations, and because the application of law to facts requires professional judgment, you must consult a licensed attorney admitted and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction before making any decision or taking any action that may affect your legal rights or obligations. Only such an attorney, after reviewing the specific facts of your matter, can advise you on the law applicable to your situation. Reliance on any Content in lieu of such advice is undertaken solely at your own risk.
8. "AS IS" and Warranty Disclaimer
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VerifiedLawFirms LLC, on behalf of itself and its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and suppliers, expressly disclaims all warranties, representations, and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, with respect to the Site and the Content, including, without limitation:
- the implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement;
- any warranties arising out of course of dealing, course of performance, usage, or trade practice;
- any warranty that the Site or Content is accurate, complete, current, reliable, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected; and
- any warranty that the Site or its servers are free of viruses, malware, or other harmful components.
8.1 No Warranty as to Firms or Outcomes
Without limiting the foregoing, we make no warranty or representation concerning the competence, qualifications, licensure, character, or conduct of any firm or attorney listed on the Site, and no warranty, promise, or guarantee of any particular result or outcome in any matter. Any decision you make in reliance on the Content is made at your sole risk.
8.2 No Reliance
You acknowledge and agree that you have not relied, and will not rely, on any representation or warranty not expressly set forth in this Disclaimer or in our Terms of Service, and that your use of the Site and Content is undertaken at your own discretion and risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VERIFIEDLAWFIRMS LLC, OR ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR SUPPLIERS, BE LIABLE for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, business opportunities, or for any damages arising out of or relating to:
- your access to, use of, or inability to use the Site or any Content;
- any reliance placed by you on the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any Content, including any Verification Indicator, court or docket data, or statute-of-limitations or other legal summary;
- any deadline missed, claim or defense lost or barred, or other harm suffered in reliance on the Content;
- the acts, omissions, advice, conduct, fees, or work product of any firm, attorney, or other third party located through or listed on the Site; or
- any third-party content, website, link, testimonial, or review,
whether such claim is based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, statute, or any other legal or equitable theory, and whether or not VerifiedLawFirms LLC has been advised of the possibility of such damages, and even if a remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose.
9.1 Aggregate Liability Cap
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the total, aggregate liability of VerifiedLawFirms LLC arising out of or relating to the Site, the Content, and this Disclaimer shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount, if any, that you paid to VerifiedLawFirms LLC for access to the Site during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (US $100.00).
9.2 Jurisdictional Limitations and Allocation of Risk
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for certain types of damages; accordingly, the above limitations and exclusions apply to you only to the extent permitted by applicable law, and nothing in this Disclaimer is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. You acknowledge that the disclaimers and limitations in this Disclaimer reflect a reasonable and agreed allocation of risk and are an essential basis of the bargain between you and VerifiedLawFirms LLC, and that VerifiedLawFirms LLC would not provide the Site without them.
10. Changes to Information
The Content is dynamic, and VerifiedLawFirms LLC reserves the right, at any time and in its sole discretion, to add, modify, update, correct, suspend, or remove any Content, listing, Verification Indicator, dataset, or feature, in whole or in part, without prior notice and without any obligation to do so. We do not undertake, and expressly disclaim, any obligation to update the Content to reflect subsequent events, changes in the law, changes in a firm's or attorney's status, or newly available information. Dates displayed on the Site (such as a last-checked or last-updated date) indicate when the associated item was last addressed and do not represent a warranty that the item remains current as of any later date.
10.1 Your Duty to Re-Verify
Given that Content may become outdated and that the status of any firm or attorney may change at any time, you bear sole responsibility for independently re-verifying any information, including current bar licensure and good standing, before relying upon it for any decision affecting your legal rights or obligations.
11. Contact
