Focus and practice areas

The firm practices immigration law exclusively. It represents individuals and employers, both national and international, and it holds that one focus across every matter it handles. In my opinion, that kind of narrowing tends to help clients, because immigration rules shift often and a practice that works in this area every day stays close to those changes.

The work splits into two broad lines. On the family side, the firm handles family-based immigration, green cards, adjustment of status, and consular processing. On the employment side, it prepares PERM labor certifications and I-140 petitions and works on EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 immigrant visas. It also handles a set of temporary work categories: H-1B, J-1, L-1, O-1, R, and TN visas.

Alongside those two lines, the firm files for citizenship and naturalization, handles political asylum matters, and prepares petitions under the Violence Against Women Act. That last route matters for clients whose case cannot rest on a sponsoring relative or employer. How the team is built

Rachel C. Tadmor and Yoav Tadmor founded the firm, and the firm states that the two of them hold more than 45 years of collective legal experience in immigration law. Rachel C. Tadmor has practiced since 1991. She graduated from the University of Maryland Law School, she is admitted in Massachusetts, and she concentrates in employment and family-based immigration. She belongs to the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has spoken on a panel for its New England chapter.

Yoav Tadmor has been an attorney since 1994. He graduated from Temple University School of Law and holds an LLM in International Law from Georgetown University Law School. He is admitted in Massachusetts and, like his co-founder, concentrates in employment and family-based immigration. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

The attorneys behind the founders

Three more attorneys round out the group, which the firm counts as five lawyers in total. Anatoliy Devitskiy is admitted in New Hampshire. He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and his law degree at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. He focuses on family-based immigration and is fluent in English and Russian.

Leo D. Lechtenberg is admitted in Massachusetts. He studied at the University of Massachusetts, Boston and earned his law degree at Rutgers School of Law in Camden. During law school he worked with the Rutgers legal clinic and represented low-income clients in civil and quasi-criminal matters. He lived in Bolivia and speaks conversational Spanish.

Esther S. Hong is admitted in Massachusetts. She studied at Smith College and earned her law degree at Suffolk University Law School. Before she joined the firm she worked at a boutique immigration firm in Los Angeles, where she handled employment-based immigrant visas and other nonimmigrant visas. At the firm she focuses on employment-based nonimmigrant visas, and she is fluent in Korean.

Languages in the office

Between these attorneys and the wider staff, the firm offers service in Russian, Spanish, and Korean alongside English. That spread carries weight in immigration work. A person explaining a family history or a work record does better in a language they know well, and the firm can meet several client groups in their own tongue rather than through a stranger.

Where the firm works

The firm runs offices in Worcester and Newton Center, Massachusetts, and it provides representation throughout Boston.
