That spread is unusual in one respect: it stays inside IP. The firm handles the filing side and the fighting side of the same subject. A client who registers a mark and later finds a competitor using it can keep both stages in one office.
The firm names data privacy alongside the older categories. In my opinion that placement is worth noting, since privacy work often sits with regulatory or corporate teams elsewhere rather than with the group handling a company's other information assets.
What the litigation side involves
Enforcement and litigation in IP runs on its own track. Patent infringement suits go to federal district court, and appeals go to the Federal Circuit rather than a regional circuit. Trademark disputes can start at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, an administrative body inside the USPTO, before anyone files in court.
Claim construction usually comes first in a patent case. A judge decides what the patent's words mean, and that ruling shapes everything after it. Trade secret cases run differently again, with early motions about what counts as secret and what protective order governs the documents.
How the team is built

Trade associations raise a different set. Collective and certification marks are registered by an association and used by its members under controlled standards, and the association has to police that use to keep the registration intact.
Startups arrive with the opposite problem: limited budget and decisions that cannot wait. Provisional applications, which hold a filing date for twelve months at lower cost, exist largely for that situation.

My assessment is that the listing reads as a working IP firm's site rather than a marketing exercise. It states the founding year, the founders, the subject matter, and the credential base of the attorney group, and those are all claims a reader can test against outside sources. Wood Herron & Evans has practiced intellectual property law in Cincinnati since 1868.
