He has worked with the Texas Workers' Compensation Bar Section, served as a workers' representative on its board, and lectured at the Texas Bar Advanced Workers' Compensation Seminar. That teaching role puts him in front of other lawyers who handle the same kind of claims.

Matt Lewis has represented injured workers in Texas compensation claims since 1998. He also helps clients who cannot go back to work obtain Social Security disability benefits, which connects the two sides of the firm's core. Lewis holds board certification in Workers' Compensation Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a credential that comes from meeting standards the state board sets. He sits on the board of the State Bar's Workers' Compensation Section and speaks each year at the Bar's Workers' Compensation Seminar.

How the team is built

Six attorneys carry the firm's work, and the site puts their combined experience at more than 80 years. Alongside the two founders, the roster lists Janet Booker, Elijah Montes, Layla Benjamin, and Jameson DeCorey. That combined figure covers a mix of senior founders and newer attorneys, which the bios bear out. Elijah Montes led the Hispanic Law Students Association during law school. Backgrounds behind the bios

The attorneys reach the firm from different schools and starting points. Janet Booker was born in London, England, graduated from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, and earned her JD from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas. For more than 24 years she has represented injured and disabled people in hearings throughout Texas. Her long run of hearing work spans changes in how the state handles these claims. She now takes Social Security disability cases for clients around the country.

Layla Benjamin grew up in east Dallas and graduated from Texas A&M University School of Law. After she finished school, she began representing injured people in claims against insurance companies. Elijah Montes earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of Dallas in 2019 and graduated from Regent Law School in 2022, the year Texas licensed him. Earlier in his career he worked in personal injury and municipal law, and in law school he sat on the Alternative Dispute Resolution board.

Jameson DeCorey was raised in Texas and holds an associate's degree from Collin College, a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law. He was part of that school's first graduating class, and he was the first legally blind student to graduate from it. His practice centers on workers' compensation law.
